Snapper & Crab Derby

This annual tournament, in partnership with Captree Bait, Tackle and Fuel, is held at Captree State Park to encourage children 16 years old and younger to discover the joy of fishing. Prizes are awarded to the heaviest snapper and crab caught. “Catch and Release” is encouraged. Age categories are as follows: 7 years old & younger; 8 – 12 years old; and 13 – 16 years old. Awards ceremony will begin at 2:30 pm each day.

Date: Saturday, August 7th and Sunday, August 8th

Time: 10:00am-2:00pm (both days)

Location: Captree State Park, Ocean Parkway, NY; Fishing Pier

Fee: Free to public

Vehicle Use Fee: $8.00
