My Hunt for the Vanderbilt Cup Races and the Long Island Motor Parkway

Town Historian for North Hempstead, Howard Kroplick shares details of his 14-year research journey. This program takes place at the Connetquot Public Library on Wednesday, June 14 from 7:00-8:30pm and features photos from the private archives of William K. Vanderbilt, Jr, a prominent figure of the Gilded Age, rare race films and an assortment of “Vanderbilia.” Howard has written three books, The Vanderbilt Cup Races of Long Island, The Long Island Motor Parkway (co-authored with Al Velocci) and North Hempstead.
